A boutique law firm in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with 2 or more years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration. Conduct client intake and manage estate planning engagements from start to finish
Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
Oversee estate and trust administration processes
Provide legal guidance on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax matters
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex transactions and client strategy
Engage in legal research and writing, including drafting memoranda and communications
Maintain awareness of developments in trust and estate law and contribute to firm learning
Minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration
Ability to independently manage client relationships and legal matters
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex matters
Proven communication skills and a client-focused mindset
Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continuing legal education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred (not required)
Admission to the Virginia State Bar or eligibility for admission
Strong drafting and legal writing skills
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in handling legal and tax issues for high-net-worth individuals and families
Analytical thinking and sound legal judgment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Experience in business and marital planning is a plus
