Job Overview:
A leading California law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of experience to join its Environment & Land Use practice group. Location:
Washington, DC
Duties:
Conduct environmental and land use due diligence for public and private sector projects
Advise on land use entitlements and environmental/resource permitting processes
Provide guidance on CEQA and NEPA compliance and regulatory strategy
Represent clients in state and federal court in defense of zoning and environmental approvals
Collaborate with attorneys in other practice areas including Real Estate, Infrastructure, Government Relations, and Eminent Domain
Requirements:
2–5 years of experience in environmental or land use law
Strong interest in environmental and regulatory matters
Experience with CEQA, NEPA, and permitting processes preferred
Litigation experience in zoning or environmental matters is a plus
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active member of the State Bar of California (required)
Skills:
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to handle complex regulatory issues and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Collaborative team player with cross-practice group experience
High level of professionalism and attention to detail
