Job Overview: A law firm in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a Senior Employment Litigation Attorney to oversee a diverse caseload and provide strategic legal counsel and representation in state and federal courts. Job Duties:

• Manage a caseload of at least 40 employment litigation cases with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
• Supervise dedicated support staff to ensure efficient case management and client service.
• Analyze legal issues, develop effective strategies, and provide clients with timely and practical legal advice.
• Direct litigation strategies and serve as lead counsel in trials, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
• Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on employment law developments.
• Conducted depositions, examined witnesses, and presented oral arguments in court with confidence and professionalism.
• Manage high-pressure situations adeptly, especially when handling emotionally charged cases.
• Maintain professionalism and diplomacy in challenging interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Utilize technology proficiently in legal practice, including case management systems, legal research tools, and courtroom presentation software.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• An active license to practice law in West Virginia; Ohio licensure is preferred.
• Experience in employment litigation, with a record of first-chairing jury trials.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of federal and state employment laws and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex motion practice, negotiate settlements, and handle diverse employment litigation matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Proven leadership skills, including mentoring and supervising junior attorneys and support staff.

Certifications and Skills:

• Certification in employment law preferred.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, or equivalent.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to think quickly on one's feet in a courtroom setting.
• Confidence in presenting arguments and examining witnesses during trials and hearings.
