Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Employment Litigation Attorney for its Hackensack, NJ office. The successful candidate will join a dynamic Labor and Employment practice group, representing employers in complex employment matters across various industries.

Duties

• Independently manage all phases of employment litigation from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend and advocate at court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment-related claims.
• Advise employers on workplace issues and employment law compliance.
• Manage discovery, motion practice, and case deadlines in state and federal courts.
• Develop litigation strategies and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of employment litigation experience.
• Admission to practice in New Jersey required; New York admission is a plus.
• Experience handling matters in state and federal court.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions and conducting depositions.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to independently manage an active caseload and prioritize deadlines.

Education

• Superior academic credentials preferred.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in New Jersey.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience counseling employers on employment law compliance preferred.
