A law firm in New York City is seeking a Senior General Commercial Real Estate Litigation Attorney with over 10 years of experience. The successful candidate will manage real estate-related litigation matters with a focus on commercial mortgage foreclosures and secured creditor enforcement. Responsibilities will include drafting legal documents, handling state and federal court appearances, and overseeing practice management. The role demands exceptional legal research and writing skills, strong negotiation abilities, and high independence in multitasking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage practice and oversee real estate-related litigation matters, particularly commercial mortgage foreclosures and secured creditor enforcement.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and appeals.
• Represent clients in state and federal court appearances and mediations.
• Conduct diligence related to the purchase and sale of notes and mortgages.
• Demonstrate high-level legal research and writing capabilities.
• Provide effective management and leadership within the litigation team.
• Employ strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Maintain a high level of independence and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 for document preparation and case management.
• Exhibit exceptional analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Communicate effectively with clients and prepare detailed written reports.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar; New Jersey admission is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in general commercial real estate litigation, with a focus on mortgage foreclosures and secured creditor enforcement.
• Strong management experience and capability in leading a team.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong negotiation and client interaction skills.
• High level of independence and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience with bankruptcy law is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (New Jersey admission is a plus).
