Assistant General Counsel

The candidate will provide counsel regarding the firm's distribution of mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, and employer-sponsored retirement plans. Assist with oversight and expansion of the firm's advisory services delivered through a discretionary wrap-fee program. Support the firm’s affiliated mutual fund recordkeeper in connection with customer account administration, which may include investigating and responding to inquiries from investors, regulatory agencies and other third parties. Support various aspects of the firm’s brokerage and advisory services, including product due diligence, vendor agreements, client agreements, advertising compliance, regulatory disclosures, SEC filings, and monitoring of regulatory changes. Securities industry experience (in-house, law firm or regulatory) and knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, ERISA, FINRA rules, SEC rules and state securities laws is required. A Juris Doctor Degree. Member of any state bar association. Should have 7+ years of experience, with knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, ERISA, FINRA rules, SEC rules and state securities laws. Strong analytical skills. Strong legal research and writing skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Series 7 and 24 securities licenses (or must obtain within 120 days of hire). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to work with internal colleagues as well as independent financial professionals in the field.
