Scope of Work:

The Burlington-Winooski Middle School Summer Program is seeking experienced and energetic educators to support work in program activities ranging from academics (math, literacy, English Language support) to STEAM and outdoor activities, both on and off-site. Academic and activity-based enrichment pods run morning and afternoon sessions for all 5 weeks.

Required Qualifications:

Please make sure you provide clear evidence of the following criteria in your application.

- Minimum of two years experience in education or related field

- Flexibility to work up to all 5 program weeks, June 28th - July 30th

- Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols

- Knowledge of middle school research-based best practices

- Training and experience with English Language Learners

- Evidence of a strong connection with students and families

- Experience in implementing inclusive practices for students with disabilities

- Understanding of summer learning

Preferred Qualifications:

- High school diploma plus at least 2 years additional education

- Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License preferred for academic classes

Dates and Position Hours:

Training / Orientation Days: June (TBD), 1-2 days

Program Dates: June 28th - July 30th. No program July 5th

Location: Hunt Middle School

Hours: Up to 37.5 hours/week, daily schedule 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday
