Corporate Counsel
The candidate serves as lead counsel to hospital administration and Board of Directors. Provides practical advice and counseling regarding all legal and compliance matters throughout the hospital. Oversees governance of Board of Directors. Works actively to manage litigation, government agency regulations, compliance and other matters to ensure compliant organizational practices and procedures. Provides direction and consultation to clinical and non-clinical hospital employees. Lead the hospital compliance program. Researches legal/health care issues. Manages the discovery process on assigned claims and investigates potential liability issues and directs defense counsel on assigned cases. Participates as needed for trial/mandatory and voluntary settlement conferences as appropriate or required by the court. Assists Executive Vice President with administrative duties and day to day operations to maintain organizational compliance. Working in partnership with the executive administration team and Board of Directors, the Corporate Counsel role requires a record of accomplishment of distinguished performance and proven success. Duties and responsibilities: Providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to your employer and other members of staff on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business sector and their products or services. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements. Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business. Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the hospital. Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors. Designing and delivering legal training to the business. Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect your business and specific industry. Liaising with senior members of staff. Serves as the subject matter expert for service excellence, maintaining an active understanding of current thinking and innovative interventions / programs regarding the internal and external experience both locally, nationally, and internationally. Monitors compliance program. A Juris Doctor Degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school required. Licensed Attorney OK State Bar license required. Experience in healthcare preferred. 10 years experience required. Licensed Attorney OK State Bar license required.
