A prominent law firm based in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Security Disability Attorney to join its dedicated team. This remote role offers the opportunity to support individuals nationwide who are navigating Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims. The position emphasizes advocacy, case development, client empowerment, and collaboration with medical and vocational experts to deliver exceptional representation.
Duties:
Represent clients in SSDI and SSI cases from initial application through hearings before Administrative Law Judges
Review medical records, vocational reports, and work histories to craft persuasive cases
Collaborate with healthcare providers, vocational experts, and internal team members to bolster client claims
Conduct client preparation sessions for testimony and deliver compelling oral arguments during hearings
Translate complex legal processes into clear, supportive guidance for clients throughout their cases
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Social Security disability law and regulatory changes
Manage a full caseload remotely using modern legal technology tools
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
Active membership in a U.S. State Bar (preference for Ohio admission, but not mandatory)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Social Security disability law, administrative hearings, or related public interest litigation
Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral advocacy
High emotional intelligence with the ability to empathize and connect with clients
Comfortable operating in a fully remote legal environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. state; Ohio preferred)
Skills:
Expertise in Social Security disability law and administrative procedure
Strong legal research, writing, and argumentation skills
Exceptional interpersonal communication and client relations abilities
Ability to analyze complex medical and vocational evidence
