Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate to join their San Francisco, CA office. This is a hybrid position offering an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of employment law cases, including class actions, wage and hour disputes, and discrimination claims. The ideal candidate will have experience defending and litigating employment-related lawsuits and advising employers on labor law matters.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a variety of employment-related claims and agency charges.
  • Advise, counsel, and train employers on compliance with employment and labor law issues.
  • Represent employers in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
  • Handle cases related to class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour claims, employment contracts, employment torts, and non-compete agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop effective legal strategies to address employment issues and minimize risk.
  • Stay updated on the latest labor and employment law developments at the state and federal levels.
  • Engage in agency proceedings, including matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), and other relevant state and federal agencies.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on litigation and/or advising employers.
  • Strong background in handling employment-related claims, including discrimination, wage and hour, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
  • Experience with class actions and PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) litigation preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality legal work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and collegiality.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively in court and with clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Current California Bar admission in good standing.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, both state and federal.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters from start to finish.
  • Strong research, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of agency procedures at both the state and federal level.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
