A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney specializing in Contested Foreclosure Litigation to join their team in Tampa, FL. The role involves managing cases from initiation through trial, focusing on contested matters within mortgage foreclosure litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Florida foreclosure law and demonstrate strong courtroom skills.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents with precision.
• Conduct depositions and manage discovery processes.
• Perform legal research and apply case law and statutes to client matters.
• Appear at hearings, trials, and conferences throughout Florida.
• Negotiate settlements and consent judgments on behalf of clients.
• Evaluate and communicate risk and strategic recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate with client witnesses and loan processors for case resolution.
• Maintain accurate time records and provide monthly file status updates.
• Engage in communication with opposing counsel and court staff.
• Travel statewide as needed for case assignments.

Requirements

• Active Florida Bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure litigation.
• Ability to draft sophisticated legal documents independently.
• Proven experience in conducting depositions and managing discovery.
• Strong command of Florida foreclosure statutes and case law.
• Excellent verbal communication and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Capacity to manage a substantial caseload with minimal supervision.
• Availability for statewide travel as required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Florida Bar.
