Junior Family Law Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a Junior Family Law Attorney to join its team in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in family law and be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role will involve handling a variety of legal tasks, including case settlement, client relations, legal research, and document preparation. This position offers the opportunity to grow within the firm while receiving guidance from senior attorneys.

Duties

• Client Interaction and Case Management

  • Assist clients with discovery and case-related matters.
  • Resolve routine to moderately complex legal issues with minimal supervision.
  • Manage legal files, including overseeing the discovery, investigation, and case calendar.
  • Serve as a liaison for gathering documents, evidence, and correspondence for legal proceedings.

• Legal Research and Drafting

  • Perform legal research to support case strategies.
  • Draft memorandums, charts, tables, and other documents as required.
  • Prepare and review legal documents for accuracy and compliance.

• Document Management and Case Monitoring

  • Organize, maintain, and review legal materials related to ongoing cases.
  • Monitor deadlines, case schedules, and filing requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of necessary documents and keep clients informed of case progress.

• Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work alongside senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies.
  • Provide support for special projects as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate with paralegals and office staff to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements

• Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in family law.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
