Proposal Manager, Energy Sector

The candidate will be an integral member of the Business Development team and will provide full proposal lifecycle support across the US energy sector, including the energy, infrastructure and natural resources teams, ensuring that responses are completed in an efficient, consistent and professional manner. Strong organizational skills, creative thinking, a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects, together with excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and works well independently and as part of a collaborative team. The Manager will report to the US Managing Director, Business Development. Managing and driving the preparation of proposals. Coordinate input and gather insights from multiple sources, including pricing, legal professionals, legal project management, and competitive intelligence. Develop and manage relationships and work collaboratively with practice areas, sectors, and business development teams. Provide project management support and information resources in order that strategic and panel responses are completed in an efficient, consistent and professional manner. Write, edit, and manage up-to-date practice and experience descriptions and copy. Support the auditing of existing materials to evaluate strategy and create new copy and approaches, as appropriate. Update and maintain the opportunities module tracking system and assist in the creation of leadership reports. Prepare placemats and client presentations, as requested. Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 5 years of experience working in a proposals function, preferably in a law firm. Strong research and writing skills, as well as superior proofreading skills and attention to detail. A self-starter who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing solutions. Ability to liaise confidently and build relationships with people at all levels. Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines. Excellent project management and organizational skills and ability to manage workload. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
