This role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel to public school districts and other public agencies throughout California.

Duties

• Represent public entities in state and federal court and administrative hearings.
• Provide legal advice on public agency, education, and labor and employment law.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare legal documents.
• Collaborate with clients and provide strategic legal guidance.
• Stay current on legal developments and provide client training.
• Handle collective bargaining and contract grievances.
• Address discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct issues.
• Manage all litigation stages, including case assessment, discovery, and trial preparation.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Experience with public entity representation preferred.
• Administrative hearing experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
