Senior Director, Health Economics & Reimbursement (HE&R)
Responsibilities: The candidate should have in-depth experience in global reimbursement strategies, health economic and outcomes research, and sales and marketing support. This position helps to develop and implement strategies for successfully advocating for reimbursement and demonstrating the value of Company technologies in the constantly evolving global health care marketplace. This positions reports to the VP, Marketing. Leading development and execution of practical strategies to secure optimal reimbursement for Company products and procedures, with a focus beyond commercial payers, such as Medicare, Medicaid, employer groups, case management and patient advocacy. Familiarity with patient advocacy development preferred. Leading implementation of tactical planning activities required to achieve health economics and reimbursement strategic objectives (e.g., preparation of economic and reimbursement dossiers for payer negotiations, new code applications, coverage for new indications, customer billing guides). Management and leadership in the development and implementation of reimbursement and health economics activities for Company working with key internal and external stakeholders in targeted areas such as Medicaid, Medicare, employer groups, patient advocacy groups, patient assistance programs and case management programs related to Company products. Identification of key health economics needs for Company products, working with commercial colleagues to drive customer-oriented solutions. Advancing specific government policy strategies that have material impact on Company products. Manage provision of reimbursement support to sales force and key external stakeholders (e.g., hospitals, clinicians, investigator sites, professional societies) as appropriate. Assess reimbursement opportunities and challenges facing the company for commercially marketed products and communicate business impact to senior management. Work with new product development and clinical teams to ensure health economics and reimbursement needs are incorporated into development plans and timelines. Manage appropriate in-service training to sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and reimbursement competencies and their role in supporting a product’s success. Monitor policy developments that impact the reimbursement of Company products. Build relationships in key markets with government, physician, hospital, and third-party payer decision makers.
