Privacy Litigation Associate

Profile

A law firm seeks a talented and motivated mid-level associate to join its Privacy Litigation team in Wilmington. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile privacy-related litigation matters within a growing national practice. The ideal candidate will bring substantial litigation experience, strong legal research and writing skills, and a passion for navigating complex legal issues in the rapidly evolving field of privacy law.

Duties:

• Take ownership of managing all aspects of privacy litigation cases, from initial research to trial preparation.
• Draft and refine key legal documents, including briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on privacy laws and regulations at federal, state, and international levels.
• Collaborate closely with clients and senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and case plans.
• Assist in preparing for trials, including document review, witness preparation, and filing motions.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of privacy law developments and advise clients on emerging issues.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment by mentoring junior associates and enhancing client relationships.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with a preference for candidates with a focus on privacy or related legal areas.
• Experience in managing case elements, including legal research, document drafting, discovery, and pretrial motions.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex legal issues.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on effective collaboration within a team.
• Active and valid bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the jurisdiction where the firm practices.

Skills:

• Expertise in legal research, writing, and analysis, particularly in privacy law.
• Strong case management skills, with experience in all phases of litigation.
• In-depth knowledge of privacy laws, data protection regulations, and related legal areas.
