Restructuring Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in New York City is seeking a highly experienced Restructuring Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings. The ideal candidate will have substantial company-side experience, along with a diverse mix of other representations.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients involved in restructuring transactions, including bankruptcies, workouts, and distressed asset sales.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support restructuring efforts and develop effective legal strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including restructuring plans, agreements, and court filings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including financial advisors, accountants, and other legal professionals, to achieve client objectives.
• Advise clients on regulatory compliance and risk management issues related to restructuring transactions.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediation sessions, and court proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in New York.
• 5+ years of experience in restructuring law, with a strong background in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
• Substantial company-side experience in restructuring matters.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
