Job Overview

A prominent civil defense litigation firm with a strong trial record and growing client base is seeking a Litigation Attorney for its office in Irvine, California (with additional opportunities in San Diego). The firm handles a variety of complex litigation matters including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, commercial liability, HOA disputes, and construction defect. This role is ideal for attorneys who want to build trial experience and work alongside ABOTA trial lawyers in a fast-paced environment.

Location

Duties

• Manage litigation cases from responsive pleadings through trial

• Propound and respond to discovery requests

• Review and summarize medical records

• Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts

• Attend court hearings and case management conferences

• Prepare and argue motions and oppositions

• Draft and submit case status reports to insurance carriers

• Assist with trial preparation and support

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience

• Prior insurance defense experience preferred but not required

• Ability to manage a caseload independently under partner supervision

• Demonstrated ability to handle court appearances and depositions

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing (required)

Skills

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

• Strong litigation skills, including discovery and deposition practice

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

• Trial preparation experience or strong interest in trial work
