Job Overview: A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in Texas personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of the litigation process, from initial case assessment to trial representation.

Job Duties:

• Direct legal decisions throughout all phases of the litigation process
• Understand the applicability of laws and statutes to the potential recovery of each case
• Communicate with clients and medical providers to ensure the highest quality medical care for clients
• Negotiate personal injury settlements
• Depose parties and fact and expert witnesses
• Aggressively pursue advantageous litigation tactics for the advancement of settlement position or trial
• Draft and argue motions
• Attend mediation
• Make court appearances on behalf of the firm
• Prepare for and attend trial as 1st or 2nd chair as appropriate

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
• 3-5 years of litigation and trial experience in Texas personal injury cases
• 1st Chair Experience preferred
• 2nd Chair Experience required
• Experience handling contested motions
• Experience taking and defending depositions of parties and experts
• Experience at mediation in personal injury cases
• Willing to work a pre-litigation caseload while building up a full litigation docket

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Skills:

• Computer literate and familiar with document drafting and e-filing
• Available to work more than 40 hours per week, as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Efficient and effective with overall time management
• Determined to learn and adapt in a high-paced atmosphere
• Able to multi-task and handle a high-volume litigation docket
