Job Overview: A law firm in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking a highly experienced Finance Attorney with 6-15 years of substantial experience in finance matters. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead transactions in a first-chair capacity, with a strong understanding of both lender and borrower-side work. The Finance Attorney will be proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents. A portable business book with demonstrated business development capabilities and an entrepreneurial mindset is preferred.

Duties:

• Lead and manage complex finance transactions from inception through completion.
• Provide expert legal advice on lender and borrower side work, including loan documentation and due diligence.
• Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and related loan documents.
• Oversee and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and legal requirements.
• Manage client relationships, offering exceptional customer/client service.
• Develop and maintain a portable book of business.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and firm staff to achieve favorable client outcomes.
• Continuously stay updated on changes in financial regulations and market trends.

Requirements:

• 6-15 years of significant experience in finance matters.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transactions in a first-chair capacity.
• Comprehensive understanding of lender and borrower side work, loan documentation, and due diligence.
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents.
• Portable book of business preferred.
• Demonstrated business development capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high responsiveness.
• Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer/client service skills.
• Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
