A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate for its Professional Liability department in Atlanta, GA. The role involves engaging in varied and complex litigation, working alongside experienced litigators. The associate will handle cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, focusing on defending professional liability, premises, coverage, and employment matters.

Duties

• Manage claims and cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct client meetings and recommend defense strategies.
• Research and draft persuasive legal briefs.
• Plan and execute discovery processes.
• Interview witnesses and conduct depositions.
• Present motions at oral hearings.
• Conduct settlement conferences and mediations.
• Prepare and brief appeals.
• Participate in client marketing activities and conferences.

Requirements

• Active Georgia license in good standing.
• 3-5 years' experience in defense litigation.
• Experience in professional liability and/or coverage litigation preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Georgia Bar.
