Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Attorney with a strong foundation in handling commercial litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing cases from start to finish, including trial and mediation work. This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule for local candidates in the Los Angeles area. The firm provides a supportive environment where attorneys are expected to manage their own caseloads independently while benefiting from collaborative support.

Duties:

• Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of litigation cases, with an emphasis on commercial disputes.
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including all phases such as pleadings, discovery, pre-trial motions, settlement negotiations, trial, and appeals.
• Conduct legal research, draft and file motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution settings.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and provide clients with legal advice on case strategies and potential outcomes.
• Handle all aspects of client communications and case management, ensuring clients are informed and supported throughout the legal process.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure cases are efficiently and effectively handled.
• Stay current with the latest legal precedents and changes in law relevant to commercial litigation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on commercial litigation.
• Proven ability to handle cases independently from start to finish, including trial and mediation experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure and commercial dispute resolution strategies.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Strong courtroom presence and client communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment if located in the Los Angeles area.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in California.
