Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm located in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney. The attorney will play a crucial role in the firm's legal team, utilizing strong communication, legal advocacy, and writing skills. Preference will be given to candidates with Federal Court experience, and holding a New York Bar license is a requirement.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research on various matters related to ongoing litigation cases.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
• Assist senior attorneys in trial preparation and strategy development.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Handle case management tasks, including organizing and maintaining case files.
• Provide support in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in litigation practice.
• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
• Strong communication, legal advocacy, and writing skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Preferred experience in Federal Court proceedings.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research tools and resources.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with legal software and Microsoft Office suite.
