Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its team in a hybrid capacity. Based in Park Ridge, IL, this position is ideal for a self-sufficient litigator with a strong background in motion practice, discovery, and general commercial litigation. Experience with transactional real estate matters is preferred. This role offers flexibility with a mix of remote and in-office work.

Location:

• Park Ridge, Illinois

Duties:

• Independently draft complaints, answers, and various motions

• Handle all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission

• Participate in depositions and assist with deposition preparation

• Manage and oversee litigation files from inception to resolution

• Communicate with clients regarding case status and strategy

• (Preferred) Assist with transactional real estate matters such as closings and lease negotiations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience

• Ability to work independently and handle litigation tasks with minimal supervision

• Familiarity with Illinois state court rules and procedures

• Prior experience managing litigation dockets and deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois (required)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing capabilities

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Proficiency in legal practice management tools
