Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate in Tax for the Energy & Infrastructure group in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in financings and M&A related to power and energy transition transactions, with substantive experience in energy tax credit transactions.

Duties

• Document and negotiate complex joint ventures and tax equity transactions.
• Handle tax credit transfers and partnership tax rules.
• Draft and negotiate tax provisions in partnership agreements, credit agreements, and purchase and sale documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with financings and M&A in power and energy transition transactions.
• Substantive experience with energy tax credit transactions.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of Illinois or eligibility to waive in.

Skills

• Strong negotiation and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with partnership tax rules.
• Ability to draft and negotiate complex legal documents.
