A distinguished law firm located in Orange Park, FL, is expanding its Employment and Wage & Hour legal team and seeks a driven attorney passionate about representing employees in workplace disputes. This position involves full life-cycle litigation and pre-litigation responsibilities, focusing on matters such as discrimination, medical leave violations, sexual harassment, wage disputes, and related employment issues. The role calls for a motivated legal professional capable of managing complex caseloads, advocating for employee rights, and pursuing fair outcomes in state and federal forums.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims

• Handle all phases of litigation from intake through trial, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, and court appearances

• Provide legal guidance on employment rights concerning FMLA, medical leave, and executive compensation issues

• Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, and settlement agreements

• Negotiate and advocate settlements in both informal and formal settings

• Appear in court and administrative hearings before federal and state agencies

• Conduct thorough legal research and stay informed on relevant legal precedents and labor regulations

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Florida

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law or equivalent legal practice

• Prior experience handling cases in federal court

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases independently

• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Florida Bar admission in good standing

Skills:

• Proficiency in litigation procedures and legal research

• Strong interpersonal communication skills for client interaction and negotiation

• Ability to perform under pressure and manage deadlines

• Skilled in case evaluation and strategic planning
