Job Overview: A law firm in Omaha, NE, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 1-5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, demonstrating proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Civil litigation, Personal injury, Medical malpractice defense, General insurance defense, Workers’ compensation, Employment, or Criminal litigation. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and organized, possessing excellent communication and writing skills. This position requires the candidate to be licensed to practice law in Nebraska or have the ability to become licensed in Nebraska shortly.

Duties:

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and relevant legal advice.
• Negotiate settlements and prepare settlement agreements.
• Manage caseload from inception through trial or settlement.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
• Stay informed about new laws, regulations, and industry trends.
• Conduct initial case assessments and investigate claims.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of litigation experience.
• Proven experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Civil litigation
  • Personal injury
  • Medical malpractice defense
  • General insurance defense
  • Workers’ compensation
  • Employment
  • Criminal Litigation
• Licensed to practice law in Nebraska or the ability to become licensed in Nebraska soon.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Nebraska or eligibility to become licensed in Nebraska shortly after hiring.
