A prominent defense litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel attorney specializing in toxic tort matters to join its San Francisco-based team. The role focuses on complex litigation, including asbestos, talc, silicosis, and related claims. Location

Duties

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda

• Manage litigation caseloads independently from inception to resolution

• Represent clients at depositions, mediations, and court hearings

• Collaborate across multiple offices and practice groups

• Provide case updates and strategic advice to clients

• Participate in trial preparation and second-chair trial activity, when applicable

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of litigation experience in toxic tort defense

• Prior experience handling cases related to asbestos, talc, silicosis, benzene, diacetyl, or similar toxic exposures

• Proficiency in drafting discovery and pretrial motions

• Courtroom and deposition experience

• Cross-examination experience of fact witnesses is preferred

• Second-chair trial experience is a plus

• Strong analytical and organizational abilities

• Ability to manage complex legal matters autonomously

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

• Good standing with the California State Bar

• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills

• Confidence in client interaction and litigation strategy

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-office team environment
