Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate to join the Investment Services team in Washington, DC. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with shareholders and engage in business development and client-facing activities within a multidisciplinary practice.

Duties

• Collaborate with shareholders on investment services matters.
• Participate in business development and client-facing activities.
• Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of corporate and securities law experience.
• Experience with SEC-registered investment advisers and private investment funds.
• Knowledge of federal securities laws, including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
• Transactional/mergers & acquisition experience preferred.
• Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, Illinois, New York, or District of Columbia.

Education

• J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
