Job Overview

A law firm seeks an intellectual property litigation associate attorney to join its Kansas City, MO office. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced litigators on a diverse range of cases, including patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and trade secret matters.

Duties

• Manage ESI collection and production.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Analyze patents and prior art.
• Draft claim charts and substantive motions.
• Collaborate on expert reports.
• Prepare for and assist in hearings and trials.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in intellectual property litigation or complex federal court litigation.
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri or eligible to become licensed.
• Excellent research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree.

Certifications

• Patent Bar eligibility preferred.

Skills

• Independent thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board is a plus.
