Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Insurance Recovery and Bad Faith team. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to advocate for clients wrongfully denied insurance coverage or treated unfairly by insurers. The firm prefers candidates based in California.

Duties

• Manage insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from inception to resolution.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft complex motions, including dispositive motions and motions to compel.
• Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, including insurance representatives.
• Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Analyze insurance policies and coverage issues to develop case strategies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong motion-writing and legal research skills.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Background in insurance litigation at a defense firm is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the legal team.
• Willingness to travel for depositions, court appearances, and case work.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.
