A law firm seeks a Lead Attorney in Fresh Meadows, NY. Duties

• Manage team's caseload, delegating and overseeing tasks for support staff.
• Oversee caseload from inception through trial, including discovery and trial proceedings.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Prepare for and attend virtual and in-person court appearances.
• Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel.
• Interact with clients and medical professionals.
• Review and evaluate medical records and causation.

Requirements

• Admission to the state bar association.
• Leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage caseload and team tasks via a cloud-based legal case management system.
• Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents.
• Proficiency in legal research using resources like Lexis-Nexis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
• Experience with legal drafting and litigation procedures.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple cases.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
