Job Overview:
On behalf of a well-established regional insurance defense law firm, applications are being accepted for a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney position based in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years of relevant litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and the ability to manage all phases of workers' compensation litigation. This role is best suited for candidates seeking to grow within a supportive, high-performing legal team.

Location:

• Richmond, Virginia

Duties:

• Manage all phases of workers' compensation litigation

• Draft and argue pretrial motions

• Take and defend depositions

• Work with expert witnesses and prepare cases for trial

• Participate in hearings and other court-related proceedings

• Support liability group matters as needed (civil litigation experience is a plus)

Requirements:

• 1–5 years of litigation experience, with direct experience in workers' compensation preferred

• Demonstrated experience handling pretrial motions, depositions, expert coordination, and trial preparation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

• Subject to background checks in accordance with legal and firm requirements

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Virginia State Bar (required)

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities

• Strong oral advocacy and interpersonal communication

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
