Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney for its Boston, MA office to join the Construction and Design Professionals Practice Groups. The role involves representing contractors, construction managers, owners, developers, architects, engineers, and their insurers in complex litigation matters.

Duties

• Independently manage an active litigation caseload from inception to trial.
• Interface with clients and insurance professionals.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Retain and work with expert witnesses.
• Engage in written discovery.
• Draft motions and oppositions, and argue them at hearings.
• Negotiate settlements independently and at mediation.
• Evaluate liability and damages issues and prepare exposure evaluations.
• Prepare for trial and provide support.
• Maintain accurate and timely time records.

Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in construction and/or design professional litigation.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in MA; admission in other New England states preferred.
• Interest in construction projects.
• Capable of independent work.
• Organized and efficient work manner.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in Massachusetts.
