Although the preferred location is onsite at the firm’s Fort Wayne, Indiana, office, there is potential for a hybrid work arrangement for qualified candidates.

Position Highlights:

  • Draft, revise, and analyze critical documentation, including plan descriptions, governance materials, and compliance filings.

  • Serve as a liaison between clients and federal agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Labor (DOL), and other relevant regulators, managing inquiries, audits, and compliance matters.

  • A solid foundation in ERISA law and related federal statutes, including the Internal Revenue Code.

  • At least four (4) years of focused experience practicing within the realm of employee benefits law or a closely related field.

  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, capable of explaining complex legal concepts to a non-legal audience.

  • Demonstrated capacity for independent work and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

  • Proven organizational aptitude, with strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience representing clients during regulatory audits or investigations.

  • Familiarity with emerging trends in benefits compliance, executive compensation, and health care reform.

Compensation and Perks:

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and qualifications.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement options.

  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development, including CLE credits and specialized training programs.

  • A collegial and cooperative work atmosphere, fostering mentorship and long-term career growth.

This is a compelling opportunity for a legal professional who is passionate about benefits law and eager to contribute meaningfully to client success in a collaborative legal practice. Candidates seeking a mix of onsite and remote work flexibility are encouraged to apply.
