Job Overview:
A top-tier law firm is seeking a mid-level Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney (4th–6th year) to join its Corporate & Securities group in New York. The position focuses on advising clients in a wide range of M&A and private equity transactions, including leveraged buyouts, growth capital investments, and other complex business combinations. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven attorney to advance within a sophisticated and fast-paced practice, working with experienced dealmakers across various industries.

Duties:
Advise clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and corporate governance matters
Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, investment agreements, and related corporate documentation
Participate in all stages of transactional matters, including due diligence, deal structuring, execution, and post-closing integration
Collaborate closely with clients, opposing counsel, and internal practice groups (e.g., tax, finance, employment)
Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations
Support business development and client relationship initiatives
Requirements:
4 to 6 years of experience practicing in M&A, preferably with exposure to private equity transactions
Background in handling leveraged buyouts, growth equity deals, or similar high-value corporate transactions is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactional workflows independently or with minimal supervision
Experience working at an Am Law 100 firm is a plus
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Strong academic credentials required
Certifications:
Admission to the New York State Bar
In good standing with licensing authority
Skills:
Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of deal dynamics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously
Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment
