Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team specializing in workers' compensation defense. The ideal candidate will work closely with employers and insurers in cases brought before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and higher courts. This role provides a great opportunity for a newly admitted or experienced attorney looking to build a career in workers' compensation law.

Duties:

• Represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation cases.
• Handle cases before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and in Civil and Appellate Courts.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop strategies and case approaches.
• Participate in arbitration and mediation as required.
• Maintain client communications and provide updates on case status.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Attend hearings, trials, and depositions as necessary.

Requirements:

• Active California Bar license.
• 0-5 years of legal experience
• Workers’ compensation experience preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar is mandatory.

• Experience with or interest in workers’ compensation law is beneficial.
