Job Title: Energy, Environmental And Infrastructure Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Denver, CO, is seeking a dynamic associate attorney with 3-7 years of post-JD experience to join its nationally respected practice focusing on energy, natural resources, and infrastructure transactions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in high-level legal work across renewable energy, traditional energy sectors, and infrastructure projects. Candidates should bring a strong foundation in transactional law and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
Handle complex transactions involving energy, natural resources, and infrastructure projects
Advise on mergers and acquisitions, project development, and joint ventures within the energy sector
Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
Operations and Maintenance Agreements (O&M)
Shared Facilities Agreements
Procurement contracts for equipment and materials
Support clients in structuring and executing renewable energy transactions, including build-to-transfer agreements
Assist with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for energy generation facilities
Provide legal support for financing transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects
Engage with clients in the oil and gas sectors (if applicable)
Requirements:
3 to 7 years of relevant legal experience in a sophisticated transactional law practice
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities independently
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Professionalism in handling sensitive and complex matters for clients
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to the bar in Colorado or eligibility to waive in
Skills:
Deep understanding of transactional structures in the energy and infrastructure space
Familiarity with renewable energy agreements and procurement documentation
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial contracts
Ability to interpret complex legal frameworks affecting the energy sector
Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
