Trademark and Unfair Competition Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Trademark and Unfair Competition Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of trademark and copyright litigation, supporting practices in multiple markets, including cases pending before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and around the United States. Handle all aspects of trademark and unfair competition litigation, including claim evaluation, demand letters, TTAB filings, complex brief writing, document discovery, deposition experience, and drafting settlement agreements.

Duties:

• Evaluate claims related to trademark and copyright infringement.
• Draft demand letters and responses to infringement claims.
• Handle TTAB filings and proceedings.
• Conduct complex brief writing for litigation cases.
• Manage heavy document discovery processes.
• Participate as first or second chair in depositions.
• Draft settlement and coexistence agreements.
• Support practices in multiple markets across the United States.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar or eligibility to waive in.
• 3+ years of experience in trademark and unfair competition litigation.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of trademark and copyright law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle complex litigation matters independently.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• Experience in negotiation and drafting settlement agreements.
