A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its team in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The firm specializes in municipal law, providing legal representation to over 100 cities and villages in Missouri. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Attorneys, offering legal advice, drafting documents, and attending government meetings.

Duties

• Assist Senior Attorneys with municipal law matters.
• Draft legal documents and conduct legal research.
• Provide legal advice on complex issues.
• Attend government meetings, often in the evenings.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of state and local government law, land use law, and administrative law.
• Familiarity with Robert's Rules of Order and Missouri Sunshine Law.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply statutes, codes, and regulations.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Local travel required.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited university.

Certifications

• Current license in Missouri required; Kansas license a plus.
