Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney in Tampa, FL, to manage a portfolio of collection and creditor-rights matters. The ideal candidate will have approximately two years of experience, be detail-oriented, and comfortable appearing in court, managing cases from inception through resolution.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of consumer and/or commercial collection matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
• Appear in county and circuit court for hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and pro se defendants.
• Ensure compliance with FDCPA, FCCPA, and related regulations.
• Evaluate cases for litigation strategy and settlement opportunities.

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• Approximately 2 years of litigation or collections experience (creditor-side preferred).
• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and a high-volume caseload.
• Professional demeanor and strong client-service mindset.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.

Skills

• Experience in collections, creditor rights, foreclosure, or bankruptcy-related matters preferred.
• Courtroom experience in Hillsborough County or surrounding jurisdictions preferred.
