Senior General Civil Litigation Counsel

Boston office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a senior general civil litigation counsel with 7+ years of litigation or regulatory experience. The candidate will act independently on matters involving complex issues, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal briefs, presenting witnesses, conducting cross-examination, and managing litigation-related tasks such as the development of discovery requests, production of discovery responses, and development of witness testimony. Will independently drive all assignments forward. Consistently demonstrate the ability to make recommendations and critical case decisions that are based on sound judgment, thorough legal and factual analysis, and a nuanced understanding of the client's needs and wishes. Regularly engage with and negotiate with other parties, such as litigants, complainants, business competitors, and co-defendants. Must actively delegate work, provide timely feedback, and actively train, educate, and supervise associates and paralegals you are assigned to work with on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Must independently comply with all administrative billing requirements and consistently meet minimum annual hours obligation. Must be working towards mastery in their field of expertise in the firm, e.g., litigation, compliance, etc. Must adhere to firm policies and procedures, ensure accountability with those systems, and take initiative in developing and implementing new systems and procedures for daily management. Must have admittance to the Bar and be in good standing in all jurisdictions. Should have experience in all stages of litigation, including trial preparation and trial and appeals (though in-court trial experience or practice of appellate law is not required). Must have mastery of the civil rules in the jurisdictions in which one practices and an expert understanding of all principles of law routinely relied upon in the firm’s primary practice areas.
