Job Overview:
A well-established litigation firm in Birmingham is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Trial Attorney with a focus on premises liability to join its dynamic legal team. This role is ideal for a litigation professional who thrives in the courtroom and is adept at managing a high-volume caseload through all stages of litigation, including jury trials. Duties:

• Oversee and manage approximately 150 cases, with 50 or more actively in litigation at any time

• Act as lead attorney throughout the litigation process, from initial filing through final resolution

• Conduct client meetings and maintain consistent, transparent communication

• Develop comprehensive litigation strategies tailored to each case

• Take and defend depositions, draft pleadings and motions, and argue hearings

• Represent clients in mediations and settlement discussions

• Serve as first chair in jury trials, advocating effectively to achieve client objectives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation (5-8 years preferred)

• Prior experience representing plaintiffs is ideal, though defense-side experience is also considered

• Proven record of serving as first chair in at least 5 jury trials (10+ strongly preferred)

• Demonstrated command of civil procedure and evidence rules

• Admission in good standing to the Alabama State Bar

• Additional Bar admissions are considered a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Alabama

• Certification in Trial Advocacy or Litigation (preferred)

Skills:

• Strong courtroom presence and litigation instincts

• Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication

• Exceptional case management and organizational ability

• Comfortable using litigation support tools and modern legal technology

• Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment
