Job Overview: A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Mid-Level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Agent with a strong academic background, robust law firm or industry experience, and excellent communication and writing skills. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of patent applications related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.
  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
  • Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and technical experts to gather necessary information for patent filings.
  • Provide legal and technical advice regarding patentability and infringement matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including responses to office actions and patentability opinions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends in medical devices and mechanical engineering.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated a high level of academic achievement.
  • The solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.

Skills:
