Job Title: Tax Attorney

Job Overview:
A San Antonio-based law firm, known for its boutique practice serving startups and global enterprises, is currently seeking a seasoned Tax Attorney through a legal recruiting agency. This professional will provide strategic tax guidance related to corporate transactions, cross-border compliance, and planning initiatives. The position offers autonomy, collaboration with experienced legal professionals, and a direct role in shaping clients’ fiscal strategies in alignment with business goals.

Duties:

• Provide sophisticated tax advisory services on U.S. federal, state, and international matters

• Structure domestic and international business transactions to ensure tax efficiency

• Draft and review contracts and legal agreements from a tax perspective

• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring with tax implications

• Conduct complex legal research and interpret evolving tax legislation

• Address international compliance issues, including foreign entity structuring

• Collaborate with corporate teams on due diligence and risk analysis

• Support tax filing preparations and regulatory submissions

• Foster and manage client relationships with high attention to quality and service

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience practicing tax law, particularly in corporate or international contexts

• Demonstrated expertise in structuring business transactions and cross-border tax compliance

• Proven ability to work independently while aligning with team objectives

• Licensed to practice law in Texas, California, or New York

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation required

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in one of the specified jurisdictions (TX, CA, NY)

Skills:

• Deep understanding of U.S. tax code and international taxation frameworks

• Exceptional legal research and drafting skills

• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and process improvement
