Job Overview:
A full-service law firm in Colchester, Vermont is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its collaborative legal team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a professional and collegial environment while contributing to a wide range of practice areas. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Vermont attorney with strong advocacy, writing, and client service skills, ready to handle a diverse caseload. While not required, a portable book of business would be considered a valuable asset.

Location:

• Colchester, Vermont

Duties:

• Represent clients in a range of legal matters including but not limited to business law, civil litigation, employment law, family law, personal injury, and workers’ compensation

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents

• Attend court hearings, trials, and client meetings

• Advise clients on legal rights, responsibilities, and options

• Participate in firm meetings and collaborate with colleagues on legal strategies

• Maintain organized case files and adhere to firm and court deadlines

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Vermont

• Demonstrated experience in at least one of the firm’s practice areas

• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently

• Strong commitment to professionalism and ethical legal service

• Portable client base is a plus, but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the Vermont State Bar
