An Am Law 100 firm is seeking a talented mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized Intellectual Property Litigation practice. This role is focused on patent and trade secret litigation for technology-driven clients in sectors such as software, semiconductors, and electronics. Location

Duties

• Handle all aspects of IP litigation, including patent and trade secret matters

• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and briefs

• Conduct and manage discovery, including depositions and expert witness preparation

• Support and lead portions of trial preparation and trial execution

• Perform in-depth legal and technical research

• Collaborate with partners, clients, and co-counsel across multiple offices

• Contribute to mentoring junior associates and maintaining team knowledge

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in intellectual property litigation

• Substantial experience in patent and/or trade secret litigation, particularly in federal court

• Prior exposure to technology-focused cases involving hardware or software

• Strong litigation judgment and ability to take initiative on complex tasks

• Admitted to practice in the state corresponding to the selected office location

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Undergraduate degree (B.S. or equivalent) required in one of the following:

  • Computer Science

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Mathematics

  • Physics

Certifications

• Active membership in the bar of the applicable U.S. jurisdiction
