Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic Labor & Employment Associate to join its Detroit office. The ideal candidate will be a 3rd-4th year associate with experience in labor and employment litigation, including temporary restraining orders, trade secret misappropriation, and noncompete litigation.

Duties

• Handle temporary restraining order and temporary injunction proceedings.
• Engage in trade secret misappropriation and noncompete litigation.
• Conduct wage and hour class action litigation.
• Participate in union negotiations and provide advice and counseling.
• Manage OSHA matters and single plaintiff employment litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
• Prepare for trials in state and federal courts.
• Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations.

Requirements

• Strong legal writing skills.
• Experience with discovery and motion practice.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, collegial environment.
• Demonstrated client relationship and business development skills.
• Top academic credentials.

Education

• JD from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the Michigan Bar.
