Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Partner specializing in Construction Defect for their Dallas, TX office. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills within the Construction Defect and Insurance Defense Liability practice areas.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain, collaborate with, and cross-examine expert witnesses.
• Prepare for trial, including voir dire through verdict.
• Develop and maintain excellent client relationships.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in General Liability - Construction Defect.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in Texas (state and federal courts); admission in other states is a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team environment.
• Prompt response to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in Texas (state and federal courts).
