A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its office in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The successful candidate will engage in the practice of estates and trusts, family law, and criminal defense. This role involves drafting legal documents, conducting research, and managing client communications, while collaborating with a dedicated legal team.

Duties

• Handle and litigate estates, trusts, family law, and criminal defense claims from intake to resolution.
• Draft, serve, file, and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Conduct client interviews and provide legal counsel.
• Manage discovery, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trial preparation, and trial.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
• Track case deadlines to ensure timely progress and filings.
• Perform additional assignments to support the legal team.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota and in good standing with the bar.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Good work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in relevant practice areas.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload.
• Background in customer service or client-facing roles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Office, Outlook, and Excel).
• Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
